		<description><![CDATA[The primary role of Safety officer is to assist PUB to discharge their statutory duties enshrined in the main Workplace Safety & Health Act, particularly in the area of identification of workplace safety and health risks and in recommending control measures.  The following could be part of the duties of a Safety Officer:• Advising departments on safety and health issues at workplace and planning out / drawing up safety programmes and recommendations;• Advising and recommending the appropriate safety training programmes for staff to attend ;• Ensuring that department are in compliance with all of MOM’s statutory requirement ;• Review, assessment , recommendation and implementation of appropriate control measures particularly for safety and health risks;• Carrying out regular Health & Safety (and engineering) audits and spot checks at worksites and installations to look out for unsafe practices and working conditions, and to make recommendations for area of improvement ; • Assist in enhancing the overall Safety Culture and awareness in PUB;• Assist in conducting accident investigations at workplace and recommending preventive/corrective measures.]]></description>
